Motion, forces and energy

Speed and acceleration, forces and moments, momentum, energy stores, work, power and pressure. The largest 0625 section and the foundation for everything after it.

The kinetic particle model, gases and the Kelvin scale, specific heat capacity, latent heat and thermal energy transfer by conduction, convection and radiation.

Waves, light and the EM spectrum

General wave properties, reflection, refraction and diffraction, lenses and ray diagrams, and the electromagnetic spectrum from radio waves to gamma rays.

Sound

How sound travels, the audible range, echo calculations and measuring the speed of sound. Short, formulaic and full of easy marks students still drop.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is IGCSE Physics 0625?
Cambridge IGCSE Physics 0625 is the physics qualification most Malaysian international and private schools teach, examined by Cambridge International. Students sit a multiple-choice paper, a theory paper and a practical paper (usually Paper 6, Alternative to Practical). Grades run from A* to G, and universities and A Level courses read them worldwide.
Core or Extended: which should my child sit?
Core papers cap the grade at C. Extended opens A* and A, and A Level Physics courses expect Extended grades. If your child is working at grade C or above, Extended is usually the right call. Your child's tutor will confirm the recommendation with a timed past paper, not a guess.
How are tutors selected?
Every tutor is personally vetted by our founder, an educator with 8 years of IGCSE and SPM teaching behind him. Each one passes an interview, a live teaching observation and mark-scheme accuracy checks on real 0625 papers before meeting a student. Most applicants do not pass. We keep a small bench of specialists, not a marketplace of thousands.
How does the trial class work?
You message us on WhatsApp, we assign your child a tutor from our vetted bench, and the tutor teaches a 1-hour lesson on a topic your child is doing right now. It costs one hour at that tutor's rate, RM80 to RM90, and nothing beyond it. The trial is the compatibility check: your child meets their tutor before you build a weekly slot around them, and you are welcome to sit in. If it is not working, you say so and that is the end of it.
What are the rates?
RM80 to RM90 an hour, taught in 1.5-hour classes (RM120 to RM135 per class). Where your tutor sits in that band depends on their years teaching 0625, and we tell you their exact rate before you book. No packages and no lock-in. Everyone starts with a single trial hour, so you judge the teaching before you commit to a weekly slot.
Is online tuition effective for Physics?
Yes, when it is 1-to-1 on a live shared whiteboard with past-paper questions on screen. The tutor watches your child's working line by line and fixes the method on the spot, which is exactly where physics marks are won. Online also means your child gets a vetted specialist from anywhere in Malaysia, not just whoever happens to be nearby.
How do tutors handle Paper 6 and the maths side of physics?
Paper 6 (Alternative to Practical) is trained deliberately: tables, graph technique, sources of error and improvement questions, using real past papers. The maths side gets the same treatment, because around 40% of theory marks involve calculation. Tutors drill rearrangement, units and significant figures until the method is automatic.
