    We assign a tutor and confirm their exact RM80 to RM90 hourly rate before the lesson is booked.

    The student works through a real concept or question. A parent may sit in if that helps the family assess the lesson.

    Stop after the trial, continue with regular 1.5-hour lessons or discuss whether another tutor would be more suitable.

How to judge the lesson

Five Questions to Ask Afterwards

  1. 1. Did the tutor make the student show their own working?

    A one-to-one lesson should reveal how the student thinks, not only provide another explanation to watch.

  2. 2. Was the correction specific?

    The tutor should be able to identify the missing concept, mathematical step, unit, diagram rule or wording problem.

  3. 3. Could the student apply the correction?

    A second question or self-explanation is more useful evidence than the student saying the lesson felt clear.

  4. 4. Was the pace suitable?

    The student should have enough time to think while still being challenged to work independently.

  5. 5. Is the next priority understandable?

    The family should know what the student would work on next, without being promised a result that cannot be guaranteed.

Paid Trial Lesson FAQs

Why is the trial lesson paid?
It is a full one-hour taught lesson with the assigned tutor rather than a sales consultation. The cost is the tutor’s normal RM80 to RM90 hourly rate, and no package is required afterwards.
What should the student bring?
Bring one useful starting point: a current school topic, marked test, mock paper or repeated question type. Also send the student’s year, examination session and Core or Extended route if known.
What device or platform is needed?
A laptop or tablet with a working microphone, camera if used, stable internet and access to the meeting link is normally sufficient. The team will confirm the platform and any setup details before the lesson.
Can a parent sit in during the trial?
Yes, a parent may observe if the student is comfortable with that. The main purpose is still to let the student work naturally with the tutor.
What can we reasonably judge after one hour?
You can judge whether the explanation is clear, whether the tutor notices the student’s working and whether the student is comfortable asking questions. One hour cannot guarantee a grade or establish a complete long-term diagnosis.
What if the student is quiet or nervous online?
Tell the team before the lesson so the tutor has context. The trial gives the student a low-commitment way to experience the format, but no particular response or adjustment time is guaranteed.
What happens if the tutor is not the right fit?
Contact the team and explain what did not work. You are not required to continue after the trial, and the team can discuss whether another available tutor would be more suitable.
